Natural resource management focuses on conserving and preserving renewable and non-renewable natural resources in operational areas both in inland and in coastal areas. Under this sector, Somali Aid focuses on banning or discouraging charcoal burning, planting both edible and non-edible trees, promotion of solar power, and protecting coastal areas.  The organization sensitizes the community to become better stewards of natural resources in order to protect, conserve and use the environment wisely.  Most importantly Somali Aid in this focal area tries to engage in more applied research through various studies in order to contribute to knowledge and learning on changes in natural resources in Somalia.  Furthermore, Somali Aid also uses the findings from these studies as advocacy tools to engage the international community and the governments to provide the required focus and resources in this critical area.
